Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Around 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 American roles within a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August worth $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are likely, as the firm planning to reveal full details during its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.
Previous updates stated the firm planned to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.
By December 2024, Paramount had nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company has not provided a response to a request for comment.
